Second hand speakers under 300£

Good evening out there.

I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for some nice speakers available second hand for about £200-300?

I'd like a nice smooth warmish sound while I save for Harbeth C7 or M30.1.

Get a 2nd hand set of wharfedale diamond 9.1s

Or an old denton 2 for really cheap. I bet you will amazed how good they sound for the age

These for £90.

A bit scruffy on the bottoms but excellent speakers. Sealed cabinets.

These for £125.

(Same make and model but 'woodier' finish.)

It costs about £1000 (inc VAT) to have - essentially - the same speakers made up, brand-new, as factory finished 'kits' by Wilmslow Audio.

A sealed box design with Vifa drivers made in Plymouth, UK by a very good manufacturer more reknown for their HB1 speakers designed by Peter Comeau, which I once owned along with the HB3's.

Look also at JPW AP2 as they are very similar speakers.

Good call for the Heybrooks. Well regarded speakers.

Perhaps I can add Usher's S520. - Probably not as warm and big sounding due to less cabinet volume but a very good speaker nevertheless. Majors on clarity and still has decent warmth due to the excellent polyprop woofer. Build quality is fabulous.

I am not as knowledgeable as others on here but will provide my own experience.

ive tried several speakers in this price bracket over past 2 years before upgrading to PMC's, which were far more expensive.

I have owned the Wharfedale diamond 9.1, I then I got a set of B&W 601 s2 (although you could also get 601 s3's within your budget). These walked all over the wharfs despite being older speakers. I also tested these side by side. An easy choice to my ear and much much better imo.

A decent 2nd hand set of these can be picked up for £150 or less for a really good set.

Definitely worth the money and worth a thought in my opinion.
