Sanyo PLV-Z700 projector - best picture settings????????????/

After reading the What hifi review chopped my Optoma HD65 and bought a Sanyo Z700. What a buy! Very pleased. However read a few reviews that says this unit is not very good with blacks. As What Hifi say something opposite can only assume they have got the setting wrong. Therefore for watching movies what is the best setting to go for here?

Please help.

try reading the review below it is a very good projector site and gives lots of advice througout the artical to get the best out of your projector - i find it a very useful place to start then make subtle adjustments for your owen room/kit

Thanks very much. This is a great start.

Out of interest if there is a lot of ambient light whilst in use (table lamp on or partial daylight etc) are there better settings I should adopt?

Also I need to use a 15m HDMI cable. Currently using an unbranded one which seems to work fine. Cost only £21 on Ebay. Will I really notice the difference with Branded say QED or Chord version? Might have to start a new thread.
