So I've got into the service meu, and was hoping to enable

N/D Adj in the SVC menu option

This 'should' give you 2 further picture oprions, CAL D and CAL N (Calibrated Day and Night)

However, although the option is there, I can't actually turn it on...

anyone??!!

Here are the details for getting into it:

1. Turn the TV Off.
2. With the remote control press Mute, 1, 8, 2, Power. It takes a few seconds and then the SM will appear
3. Arrow down to SVC and press the Enter button in the center of the arrows
4. Arrow down to Expert and press Enter
5 .Right click on N/D ADJ to ON --- NOT FIX
6. Press Enter
7. Press Power
8. Wait a few seconds
9. Press Power
10. The Picture Mode will start in Dynamic
11. Change Picture Mode
12. Done

As I've said, I can 'get in' but cannot change the N/d ADJ in step 5

Would be interested to see if you can Oldboy

Entering engineers mode can potentialy invalidate you warranty. How that would stand up to scrutiny I don't know, but be careful in there. Would it not be easier to just calibrate one of the other profiles you do not need? On my Samsung, all options are available to play with in all profiles except Dynamic. You could just set up standard mode to be daytime and movie mode to be night time?

I believe i read somewhere the day/night mode is locked out on EU sets in the SM.

Thanks for your comments guys

Paul, it doesn't specifically mention in the owners manual that accessing the service menu will invalidate the warranty (well, I haven't managed to find it anyway)
HDTVFan, this wouldn't surprise me, although it's a huge omission on Samsung's part on one of their 'top end' TV's. I haven't had my F8000 professionally calibrated (yet) but this would be perfect, as it offers a level playing ground in which to have day and night settings in addition to the 4 normal options.
