I intend to use the TV almost exclusively for Blu Ray content. The rest of the system consists of sony 5400 av receiver, sony 5000 blu ray, and b&w 684 speaker package. Will the 8000 be noticeably superior to the 7000? Some on this forum have even suggested that the 8000 is better after turning off the 200hz motion processing? Thanks for your assistance.

BJB:Thanks for the advice. I particularly like the minimal depth of the LEDs.

I thought that may well be the case which is exactly why I sujested the PS50B850 as this is only 1.1 inches thin and looks just like the LED models but being a plasma has no issues with backlight bleed.

I called up SAMSUNG South Africa and they informed me that the set may be imported in a month or 2. Although it appears to be a specacular TV, I don't know if it is worth waiting for a tv that may not be imported to SA.

If i remember correctly, the plasma and these LEDs are the same thickness. I was toying between the same sets, and think I've settled on the plasma now, which I'll purchase when I move in a few weeks.
