Question Samsung TV and BBC

I need a new television but note Samsung do not use Freeview Play.

I have an aerial how do you get BBC1 without an app?

no idea what your perceived problem is.
I have no problems getting BBC1

It will still have a bog standard digital tuner.

Plug the aerial in and tune in the TV stations.

If you are in the UK you don't need an app to get BBC1

Just from what I have read. I am in UK. There appears to be a lot of confusion about how you get BBC1.

So from What people are saying here if I get the latest Samsung such as the QE43Q60C I will be able to get BBC1 without using an app.

Yes.
Today's TVs, like so much else, are often too 'smart' for their own good.
They often feature poorly implemented, half-hearted, superfluous apps and features that plenty of people would happily do without.
(Some sets need to go through an update process before you can even properly watch).

Fortunately they do all still have the ability to receive the main channels via an aerial or (sometimes) a Freesat dish.

I have a Samsung TV in the UK plugged in via satellite (ex-Sky) and RF cable (i.e. aerial) and channel 101 is BBC1 HD for both.
