Hi there i am extremely tempted in buying this TV from Richer Sounds for £750 but i really need to find a review or have peoples who own this TV views about the quality of this TV for picture in 2D & 3D mode & picture quality in SD/SKY HD & Blu-Ray mode.I went in to look the other day but was not impressed at the picture in the store but i understand that it was probably not set up correctly and it was also next to a Samsung LCD which was very bright & clear it did however put me off a bit espically after the sales rep also did not think the picture was up to much.Any reviews or advice would be very welcome!Andy

Make sure it's not B-graded stock, as Richer Sounds do sell them...I'm a sales specialist for Currys Megastore and the 680 has been a fantastic deal, (TV, BD5900 3D blu ray player & 2 pairs of battery powered Active shutters). Just make sure you buy a decent HDMI cable first though. Some of the current 1.4 HDMI cables only cover up to 100hz whereas the Monster 100EX Cables will support the 120Hz that true 3D requires.

Yeah i can confirm its brand new & comes with 2 pairs of glasses & 4 Shrek 3D Blu-Rays. I have no need for the Blu-Ray player as i already own the Sony S570.

Can anyone give me any views on the TV please?

id contact samsung and ask them how it differs, if at all, from the c6900, if the picture quality is going to be the same then you can use the reviews of the c6900 as a guide, there are a few of them online, all very positive too..including whfi's one here..

colb79 - please amend your signature as per our House Rules 9 and 10 on trade members. In the meantime i'll just add in your job description as above.

Thanks!

well ive had this tv, and can say yes its a good bit of kit for the price. You do need to set it up properly as with any tv but only then can you see what the tv is able to do. The blacks are acceptable with colours lookin very nice once set up using a THX disc. Although it did get a fault ont he 31st day which was a shame as it is a good unit for the price but then opted to get the ps50c7000 which is a clear improvment imo. Hope this helps

I bought a Samsung PS50C680 today from Richer Sounds. Mine only came with one pair of glasses and no Shrek movies.

No Max. The c6900 and the c7000 are both different models from the c680 - amazed you're still passing on this misinformation.

:) :)

DON'T BUY THIS TV!!!

My samsung PS50C680G5KXXU died today (No picture, but got sound), after 7 months.

Will buy an extended warranty now and will never touch a Samsung!

It is going back to Dixons tomorrow. The power supply was buzzing from new and now it is completely dead.

This is the entry level model, the frame has a different polished finish and it's twice the depth, It also has less options in the menus for calibration.I looked at this model and it wasn't (IMO) as good as the 6900/7000 screens.
