Howdy all,

Quick question, does the above TV (Samsung LE40A686M1FXXU to be precise) handle 24fps as 24fps should be handled?!

As i've just picked this TV up from Comet for £699 (which is the cheapest i've seen so far) which state on their website it doesn't do 24fps.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,

Well the core 40in '6 series' Samsung - the 40A656 - certainly natively supports 24fps, but I know Samsung produces variations for specific retailers,so I couldn't swear (as we haven't tested it) that this A686 version does.

However, i'd be very surprised if it doesn't - all 2008 Samsungs sets of this size/series we've seen have native 24fps support.

Hi Claire,

Thats great news, I too thought a TV of this spec/age etc it would have 24fps. I had a look at your review of the 656 and noticed it's not got any 1.3a HDMI connectors? Is this right? Wonder if it's the same for my 686.

Actually, do I really need 1.3a HDMI? Is it a standard I should be worried about?

Thanking you muchly,

Ben
