Hi, I've just bought the abov lcd tv. The manual controls at the bottom of the frame are invisible. Should they not light up, otherwise they are no use. I was only able to see them by shining a torch on them! Also this product is full HD 1080p yet when I call up info on the remote control all programmes are shown to be in SD. What am I missing? Otherwise I am very happy with the set

thanks

laynot,

hello i had the 40leb650 and can tell you that no the controls on the tv on the frame definately do NOT light up, very annoying i know but nothing you can do about that! As for your programmes being SD that will depend on what tv system you are using, have you got sky HD or Virgin HD? If not then your programmes will all be SD if you are using an external aerial, any other set top box that isn't HD or the built in freeview within the tv. You can send a standard def signal to the tv (480 0r 520 i think) and let the tv 'scale' the image to the screen size which may or may not improve your picture but to get full 1080p you have to have a HD source like a bluray player etc.

Hope that helps.

The TV is showing you what the signal it is receiving is (e.g. PAL which would be 576i), but it is automatically upscaling it to 1080p in order for it to be shown full screen on the TV. For most TV programs (except HD channels like the ones available on Sky HD, Virgin and Freesat), they will all be in SD.

Thanks Oldboy, you have set my mind at rest. I have freeview built in so it looks as if I will have to get a freesat box, since I do not fancy paying for sky
