Hi all,

I currently have rotel separates in my AV system but looking to upgrade to HD/HDMI system. All my content comes through iTunes/Apple TV or the Oppo BDP-95 Blu-ray Player to my Panasoinc TX-55ST30) plasma HD 3D TV.

I need help deciding on an upgrade path to use digitial media. Ratio of music to home theatre use is 50% each

Current system

Rotel processor RSP-1068 (no HD codecs or HMDI, http://www.rotel.com/NA/products/ProductDetails.htm?Id=21)

RMB-1075 5 channel power amplifier (120 watts all channels driven http://www.rotel.com/NA/products/ProductDetails.htm?Id=3).

Upgrade options

1. Keep power amp and upgrade processor to rotel RSP-1572

2. Keep power amp and upgrade to Pioneer VSX-LX55 (using pre-out to connect to power amp.

3. Just go with Pioneer LX55 (http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/42/98/405/VSX-LX55/index.html) and remove all separates

Thanks for your help......

Thanks. I guess I was thinking that the connectivity of the pioneer lx55 would make it a worthy contender over the latestest Rotel processor. Your advice would suggest keeping to separates.

The latest edition of Sterophile March - 12 has a very positive review on the Rotel RSP-1572 by Kalman Rubinson.

The RSP-1572 is described as good as any of the $2000 competition. Is completely deviod of operational idiosyncranasies or switching noise...distringuishes itself with delightful simplicity...great sounding pre/pro and a great look. The review gave a big rap to the 10-band parametric EQ.

Hi Musicraft,

Yes, I live in Singapore and I'm currently sourcing the RSP-1572.

Thanks,

Simon
