Rotel RDD-06 DAC, where it is gone?

i noticed this dac couple of months ago, and i cant belive there is almost nothing about it in the hifi press? and it came out in 2012...since rotel amps and such are well covered it struck me as surprise to not find any reviews in the biggest hifi magazines about it?...in fact, the only review i can find is in some new zeland magazine...if you search online it came out in results only in australia and new zeland, which is weird...it's like it didnt exist? and browsing rotel web site actualy it didnt exist at all...

did anyone own this dac or have a chance to listen to?

Can only assume it vanished at the same time as the other '06' models, which were replaced by the '11' and '12' series last year, IIRC.

maybe, but i cant see any 11 or 12 series dac as well..as far as i can tell there are no replacement models of rotel dac...in fact, i cant see any dac at the moment on the rotel web site...and it s also interesting that no one noticed this 06 dac in the hifi community?

I don't know why, but I thought it was only released in Japan. I always see it on display at my local Yodobashi Camera.

btw, rotel is pretty shy about all those network players, streamers, dac things...i wonder why?

AFAIK, the DAC was only released recently, so I'd be surprised if they are replacing it already. For what it's worth, I think there are also some ROTEL products sold in the UK that aren't sold here in Japan. Not sure whether Aus. and NZ get the same products as the UK, but I suspect so.

I bought it three days ago while in Tokyo. Excellent build, wirelles capability with bluetooth 3.0, several inputs. I am very satisfied. Sound wise it is smouth and neutral. I bet it is a no brainer for what I paid for - 420 euros.
