Rotel RA-10 hot even on 0 volume

Hello,

I just received my Rotel RA-10 plugged everything in and noticed the amp is quite hot when I touch exhaust panel on the top.

I tried to set volume to 0, but its the same. Its not like it would be that hot so I couldnt place my hand there, but I can imagine, if I would touch the heatsinks that would hurt. Is this temperature normal?

Thanks

Amplifiers generally do produce heat. Unless it's so hot you can't touch the casework and it's functioning in every other way there is nothing to worry about.

Every amp I've owned generates significant amounts of heat. I would never try touching a heat sink, unless you want to get injured.

While amplifiers naturally produce heat, there's a safe limit! Is this heat just when the amplifier has been sitting idle, or after listening to music? If so, what position was the volume control in while listening? What speakers are you using?
