Rotel RA-06 for B&W 685?

Hi

I'm looking for amp & cd player for a pair of 685. I tested the much sought after Marantz CD6002&PM6002 combo with a pair of Triangle Comete EX, and it had a fairly thin sound compared to a Rotel RA-06&RCD06 combo. Will a RA-06 be too much with the 685s?

Have anyone experienced that the PM6002 or RA-04 is running out of puff with the 685s?

I think the 06 is the weakest amplifier of the current rotel line-up. Slightly bloated, detached bass, unemotional mids and a so so treble. Try Marantz 7001KI instead.

I have the RA-05 with the 685's, and it sounds amazing. I didn't get a chance to hear the other rotel amps, but did compare with the PM6002. Although the Marantz was also good,the Rotel shined for me!

I have a nad 372, can i use it with B&W 685, and will it play loud? i listen to rock music.

Agree with drummerman..... dunno whats wrong withh Rotel, RA-04 obviously much better than RA-06
