Is there any sense in changing the power lead on such a relatively inexpensive amp (equivalent of a RA-04)?

I was looking at the cheapest clear audio one. Bearing in mind we've already had problems with things interfering with each other on the mains circuit from different parts of the house (TV picture breaks when things turn on etc). However, I've not noticed any problems with the hifi. Is there benefit to be had? From what hifi's review it seems like a reasonable upgrade. I'm really happy with the amp I have to say and would just like to get the most out of it.

I replaced the power leads on my Arcam amp and CD (Circa £400 each at the time) with Russ Andrews Classik Powerkords (About £75 each).

Made a big improvement to the sound. Much lower noise floor.

For around £35 which is what I believe the Clearer Audio ones are, its a good idea, especially as it sounds like your mains supply isn't the cleanest.

The beauty of Clearer Audio & Russ Andrews is they do have a money back trial period. If you think they don't make a difference, send 'em back for a full refund. It's a win-win situatuion.

Be aware though, you've opened a can of worms with this thread. Many believe that mains upgrades do nothing. Hence, it's a good idea to make use of the trial period to decide for yourself. It's your stuff, your home and your ears. Only you will be able to tell if it's right for you.

A cheap socket strip surge limiter / conditioner is a better idea IMO. Changing mains leads isn't worthwhile in my experience.
