A worthy submission to YPLAC!

Tried to add this, website not working.

A worthy submission to YPLAC!

I have some business cards that I keep in my car to hand out to those parking like C's ... they reference this website.

Looking out of my lounge window over the last week and the amount of blokes walking past wearing a thick top coat, cos it's flippin' cold, and ruddy shorts! Are these people mad? Even women have more sense and wear trews in this weather!

There's a guy at our local who wears a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops pretty much all year round. But his insulation is self-contained, if you catch my drift!

Have come to expect permanent shorts on postmen.
But I've been surprised at the amount of blokes walking round Tesco in T shirts and shorts....when I'm just about comfortable in layers + a coat.

From far away, don´t understand some english people and their "hate" for Gary Lineker (assuming you´re english).
Because he's a greatly overpaid and overrated football pundit who happens to work for an unbiased television network. He should keep his biased and small-minded political opinions to himself, he gets paid over £1million a year to comment on football, nothing else. There is a growing general dislike for this opinionated idiot in the UK.

See the previous post for your answer.
If you were English you might understand....especially if your licence fee contributed to his salary.

It's do-gooders like him that are ruining Britain.

He is the highest paid 'talent' at the BBC and plenty of us wish they'd sack him for his tweets.

Sorry for jumping in Gray, I think we share a common dislike for this so called 'talent'.

I’m English and I don’t really understand the hate. Plenty of people have opinions & share them incessantly on social media.

If I hated everyone who spews out stuff I disagree with, I wouldn’t really have much time or energy for the good stuff in life. Like posting on forums and talking about listening and to records 😁

Gary Lineker is employed and paid by BBC Studios, the BBC's commercial arm, his salary does not come from the license fee. Not that I'm a fan of his, I have a life-long, intense dislike for football.

Are you sure about that?
I know Graham Norton has that sort of arrangement.
But when the BBC reluctantly had to reveal 'talent' pay, Claudia W. was highest paid woman and Lineker was highest paid bloke.

I'd certainly like it to be the case that he didn't get a penny from the licence fee.

It is what I had heard but, a bit of research seems to indicate I was wrong.

He'd get more money working for Sky/BT TNT

He chooses to work for the BBC because he believes in the their remit.

He should keep his biased and small-minded political opinions to himself, he gets paid over £1million a year to comment on football, nothing else.

This notion that if you work in x industry you should stick to that and you're not aloud social commentary or to express political views is such ***(profanity deleted by moderation)!

Firstly, it's not like he's doing it on MoTD, he's using his personal SM accounts.

Secondly, we still live in a democracy, with free speech, and are entitled criticise the government, even if the current lot would rather we didn't.

It's also utterly ironic that it's usually the knuckle dragging, flag shagging, free speech warriors that want him "cancelled" the most!

There is a growing general dislike for this opinionated idiot in the UK.

Is there?
