As Gray wishes..

Virgin Media (have we had them before?). Our Internet as down, yesterday. That is not the thing I am grumpy about. Stuff happens and we have relatively few interruptions.

However, if you register for text updates:

1. Supply some meaningful updates!
2. Don't tell us it is fixed 4 hours before it is actually fixed and you know it isn't because your status says it will take longer!
3. Do tell us when it is fixed, when actually is fixed!
4. If you make a mistake in your messaging, do apologise and correct it!

Got a message at 4:19pm saying it was fixed (having previous said it would be sorted by 2:25pm). At about 8:30pm network was back but no message from VM since 4:19pm, yesterday!

He's mad if he thinks he can get away with it and, if he pleaded guilty, he would get less time added to his sentence.

Given he was already on remand for terrorism and official secrets charges, that he also plead not guilty to, I'm not sure whatever time he may get for absconding will make much difference.

Ah ha. A small worl ain't it. I never new CKs is the biggest supermarket chain in Wales. Fancy that. They're ok except I always buy my Organic whole milk from them. The number of bottles of it I've had to pour down the sink because it went off before its use by date kind of gets on my nerves sometimes. But....well, never mind.

I'm sure it' s been nominated already, (possibly by me) but modern driving standards are poor.

Lost count years ago of the number of people who dawdle in the overtaking lane, leading you to assume that they are dim but at least turning right at the next roundabout - only to have them sail straight over.

Mobile phone usage - the buffoon in an SUV (an oxymoronic term if ever there was one) who had drifted a foot over into my already narrow lane because his attention was on his lap. Forum rules forbid an accurate description...

Yes I've noticed in the last 2 years specifically, driving standards generally, have deteriorated. I was on a straight, wide main road with perfect visibility at about 6 O'clock in the evening last summer. It was still daylight. I was approaching a crossroads. The speed limit was 50.
I was doing 50 in a Chrysler 300c with headlamps on. A LandRover Discovery pulled out from the left side of the crossroads, into my path. I braked heavily and swerved to avoid, but there was no way I could have avoided slamming into the driver's door of said LandRover and probably killing the driver, unless she had suddenly noticed her error and reversed quickly. By the time she got out of the way there was literally no time left to spare. Needless to say, my heart rate went up.

I worked throughout, and spend my days on the road, working in the field.

It was relative bliss whilst most were imprisoned at home, after we came out of lock down though, Ive encountered some of worst driving in the 31 years since I've passed my test.

The elderly should be regularly tested as well, far to many are danger to themselves and everyone else ime.

We've just had to essentially force my 88 year old step father to give up driving for this very reason.

Yep, see this all the time, and seems to have gotten way worse since they changed the law last year, bizarrely.

On our recent trip up and down the M6, there were loads of middle lane hoggers and I also saw people on their phones. Several times we had to brake hard because some clown pulled into our lane right in front of us, with barely a flash of indicator. The dog and her blanket twice ended up in the rear footwell, as a result. (She was on a harness .)

The new mobile and fixed Aecom cameras that are being deployed can see right into the vehicles and use AI, so phone users or those not wearing seatbelts users will get caught.

Once when on the bus to work, I spotted a woman driving with a bowl of cereal on her lap!

As though driving a tonne and a half of speeding metal doesn't really warrant one's full attention...

The sooner the better.

At present, it doesn't matter what the penalty is, there's a widespread knowledge that enforcement is virtually non- existent.

If they were only risking the lives of themselves it would be ok.
But they're not.
They need to be caught and punished - and punished f****ng hard - to send the sort of deterrent nobody could ignore.

Living where we do is a nightmare. It's the home of the Chelea tractor. They just don't give a monkeys about other road users. A swear one day I'll hire the biggest JCB and see if they pay attention.

It’s similar here, especially at school run time, when they all block the roads up. Often think I could do with a 60 tonne tank, with an old locomotive horn to wake up the idiots.

Sainsbury's. Ordered food to collect for our anniversary do on Saturday. Let us know at half five on the Friday that some things were unavailable, meaning a separate trip in the morning. You then have to chase up the refund - it isn't generated automatically as everywhere else seems to, and despite in store customer services saying that is what would happen. Rang and the recorded message said they were too busy to answer. Replied to the order email and the auto reply sent me to a set of FAQs at their website with none being any use. Then 15 mins on hold being told how important my call is. I then had to tell them what they hadn't delivered. Not how things should work!

Sainsbury's again.

Saw on their app that some of the things I stock up on were back at a decent saving on Nectar price. Bought 10, and saw the 75p discount hadn't been applied. Stopped at in-store customer service who told me that it didn't apply until tomorrow - was available online as the order wouldn't be delivered until tomorrow at the earliest. Forum rules prevent me saying what I think.

I wouldn't have minded as much but the manner of the customer service (sic) person was defensive and unhelpful. May her rectum prolapse...
