matengawhat:so how you getting on with them - have they given you the warmth you were craving?

MF is a great preamp-but you could try an icon audio preamp (only £680) - mixed with that Arcam power amp, it would be bliss...

Well, I heard some Proac Tablette Reference Eight Signatures last week, and they sounded great with Arcam. Still, I'm looking forward to hearing some Proacs with valves soon.

this is all from memory but thought from your old posts that it was yours bought new and you were unhappy with the sound of your system so bought a vdac which added some warmth and then you wanted to go further so decided to go down the tube route to get a better warmer sounds hense reason for sale?

My house is certainly not quiet, as the K2 is pumping out some serious bass on Sufjan Steven's "They are Night Zombies"... Sounds great!

And who said you need to turn K2 to 1 o'clock on the dial to get a decent sound. If I turn it beyond 10 o'clock I will wake up every neighbor and beyond 1 o'oclock I will have to get myself a new set of ears... no wonder sewage man was finding it 'bright' at these levels, it was just ear-piercingly loud. (Ok my speakers are 91db effeciency and that may play a roleÿ

That's why they invented attenuators.

Don't see why not but will test it out.... but from i remember from my demo that BW 685s were not the best for very low volumes, they sounded a bit muffled.

Was bidding on the K2 half-heartedly as well, as I really want a black one to go with my Naim CD5i.

How are are you finding them with the RS6's? I am interested as my RS6's are currently powered by an old Roksan KA1 and have thought I might upgrade to the K2 and wondered how much difference there'd be?

Thanks,
Adam
