It's an end of an era! I've just read that Don LaFontaine - the gravelly voice behind so many movie trailers - sadly died on Monday.

Spookily enough, we were only discussing him at the weekend, marvelling at how long he'd been around....

i was just about to post that, its a sad day indeed, infact from what i have read on a no of contracts basis he was by far the most prolific 'actor' ever...

It is a shame...he's a legend. Trailers won't be the same without him.

I wonder who will replace him. How about Timmy Mallet?

But there are so many who copy his style/voice that he will continue as a genre and that is the ultimate compliment.
