My first album purchase, The Yes Album in about 1971 ( I think). Happy days and a great bass player. Not liked a lot of their stuff over the years but the energy of Yours is no disgrace I still find amazing.

Since no-one really reads the 'Off-Topic' section may as well continue here. And he was probably one of the best electric bass players of all time, in any genre. I mean what he did in the 70s was just breathtaking.

He had a style and sound of his own - very recognisable with a great musical technique. Roundabout - Long Distance Runaround.

He joins those other (recently departed) iconic bass players - Jack Bruce and Andy Fraser
