I currently own a Yamaha rx-v1800, and I'm thinking about buying another one.

I found a Yamaha dsp-z7 for € 1295 (£ 1080), and was wondering if this is a worthy replacement for my rx-v1800.

Thanks! :)

I'm also considering the rx-a2010.

So I'm looking for the best choice, the dsp-z7 or the rx-a 2010?

Thanks!

Hi Curd

See if you can also find the RX-V3800 as you'll have a much better ampliifer and save yourself quite a bit of money in the process. If you can't then go for the new Aventage RX-A2010 as the Aventage RX-A2010 is superior to the DSP-Z7.

Btw, what speakers, source component/s and a display do you use please?

All the best

Thanks for your reply, very pleased with it !

I found a lot of interesting deals on Yamaha receivers.

I owned a rx-v450, was upgraded to a rx-v657 wich i still own and due to the newer technologies I also bought a rx-v1800.

I've always loved these receivers, and now I'm really looking for a receiver that amazes me in comparison to the rx-v1800.

Yamaha rx-v2065 € 599 - £500

Yamaha rx-v2067 € 889 - £740

Yamaha rx-v3067 € 1195 - £ 1000

Yamaha rx-v1071 € 899 - £ 750

Yamaha rx-a1010 € 999 - £ 830

Yamaha rx-a2010 € 1399 - £ 1160

Yamaha dsp-z7 € 1295 - £ 1080

I currently own a Panasonic th-42pz70 plasma tv, Panasonic dmp-bd50, and a 5.1 Mordaunt-Short 900 Series set-up.

MS 908, 906, 905 & 309 Sub

QED hdmi & analog for cd playback, kimber cable for speakers and tv-signal.

I'm also considering a new tv upgrade to the Panasonic tx-p50g30, no 3D, but I'm not really interested in 3D.

Panasonic tx-p50G30 € 899 - £ 750

Still like the MS speakers, so I'm staying with these.

Thanks ! :)

Hi Curd

Thanks for your reply and your welcome.

From that list of Yamaha AV receivers i'll recommend the excellent Aventage RX-A2010 :) or if your budget allows the superb Aventage RX-A3010

Btw, if you're not in too much of a hurry then wait for the new Panasonic televisions.

All the best

Hi,

Why wait for the new Panasonics? According to the CES highlights, there will be only one without the 3D.

The only new 2012 panasonic without 3D would be the TC-P50U50, and the 2011 U Series are not really worth the money.

Also the only 2 that will be THX certified are the VT50 & GT50, and these will probably be more expensive.

Grtz
