Just sync'd some albums to my 8gb ipod touch i have about 14 gb of music in my itunes. How do i remove one album from my ipod touch, is this possible. What i want to do is move albums off my ipod and replace them with other ones manually. I sync'd each album manually to my ipod by dragging and dropping.

One way of doing it would be to create playlists with the albums you want and sync your pod to those playlists, you can remove or add albums from/to the playlists with out removing them from I-tunes altogether

So does that mean if i want to delete an album from my ipod. I have to delete it from itunes and then sync my pod.

If you are manually adding your songs just delete them off the iPod list in iTunes.

Not at all, when you hook up your iPod, once it's finished syncing, look in iTunes and then click on the entry for your iPod in the left hand window. You can then choose from one of the tabs which playlists your iPod syncs with - so instead of it syncing with your entire Library of music, tell it to only sync with a certain playlist e.g. you could create a playlist just for your iPod and put a tick in the box for this playlist so it only puts songs in this playlist on to your Touch. Now, just by editing that one playlist, you can easily decide the music available on your iPod. Of course, you can add more than one if you like, this is just an easy example of how to do it.

There is an alternative way to stopping your ipod syncing with tracks/albums on itunes. You do this by unchecking the blue tick in the box to the left of each track. Either click on each tick box or highlight a number of tracks, right click and then go to uncheck selection.

You can keep the album on itunes, but only let it sync to the ipod when you want it to. I've unchecked my christmas albums so they are off the ipod, but ready for the next festive season.

This is the way I do it as it also alows you to omit the songs on a album that you dont like and saves space on your touch for more songs you like.

....and it means you can have a ton of music on itunes, way more than fits on your ipod, and you just check/uncheck what you want to listen to. You keep the stuff you listen to all the time checked and the stuff you only listen to occasionally unchecked. This is particularly useful for seasonal and childrens party music etc.

yeah I do the same for videos... newly downloaded videos go on as the old one comes off... just by using the tick feature!

Keeps your ipod more free! and has mentioned especially good with seasonal music! one example was sat night... using the genius feature... nice mix of tunes until a slade christmas song came on! it was funny but i had forgot to go through and un tick the xmas tunes!
