Looking to get the RP3/Ortofon 2M Red combo soon. Will be using with my Yamaha RX-A2010 receiver.

I understand the Rega has no earth lead (done internally inside arm?) and have read reports of some owners experiencing hum.

Any owners of the RP3 - which I thought sounded fantastic during a demo recently care to give me their opinions/advice?

Thanks

What hum? No Hum on my RP3 or RP6 dont worry about it!

More importantly I think you will need a phono stage! Get the Rega fono mini to get your started!

There is no hum in my RP3!

Nop, that upgrade would cost extra, with the belt, the subplatter, the counter weight ... . At this level they will also include a wobble 😉

DM,

Get you facts right! Only the RP6 model comes with the wobble, which can be exchanged for a full-price non-wobble RP6 at no extra cost!

That sounds like an earthing problem. My Pro-Ject 1Xpression III came with an earthing cable which I connect to my Denon stereo receiver. Without the cable, there is huge hum.

My P3-24 didn't give any hum until I installed the Rega power supply after which a low level hum was noticable and was quite annoying. It was easily solved by running a short earth wire from the casing of the power supply to the amplifiers ground.

It hasn't hummed since, the platter doesn't wobble either
