rega apollo display question

hi! just bought a rega apollo cd player and am happy with my choice. was listening during the whole afternoon from various mp3 discs until in a moment , and while i was moving through directories (front/back etc) the display went crazy.. there were letters and numbers everywhere, everything was lit .. has anyone experienced that situation before?

. actually i grew very anxious for a moment or so.. i switched off the player and when i switched it back on, the display was clear but with parallel red lines (question is i dont remember if it was so before, or that happened due to some diplay "error" or something) . now it normally displays numbers tracks etc.. but for example when i press the display (off) button on the remote it is black with thin red lines

to be more specific when i come close to the display i actually see 7 thin red lines and not an entirely BLACK screen (with display off)

with display on again everything is ok but when you come closely these 7 thin red lines are still there.

please tell me if it is normal, maybe i had not noticed it before, anyway it is night in here, the light is low and i noticed it. hope to not be some kind of problem..

Yes, it's normal that your Apollo is having a problem, although I'm not really familiar with this specific problem.

Go and return it while you can, and get a different CD player. I have never seen an Apollo that doesn't act up. It will happen sooner or later.

serious now, maybe it's my fault and these thin red lines on the screen are normal...i love its sound anyway!

please anyone with an apollo here ?
