Recording HD content

I have a Sony tv/dvd recorder and i am thinking of purchasing a Freesat box. This may seem a silly question but would the recorder replay HD content in HD quality, or would I have to buy a box that could?

I assume you're going to buy a Freesat HD box. The Sony dvd recorder will record things at 576P at most - i.e. Standard Def.

If you want Hi-Def recordings, you'll need a Hi-Def source (Freesat HD, say) and an HD recorder - so a Freesat HD recording box.
