Hi

Having moved house and resited the hi fi - the 8 m runs of QED XT 300 speaker cable is excessive and looks daft behind the rack.

I want to cut them therefore, but I'm not sure how (or if) I can re attached the banana plugs - they don't seem to be fixed in place by a screw or solder so they looked crimped on...

So can I re use them and if so do I need a special tool?

Thanks

No such luck, they are the 'airlock' plugs and they are crimped on. You'll need to get new ones.

Or take them to a dealer which has the necessary tool and they can do it for you - not sure if you have to purchase new plugs at the time, but it would certainly be cheaper than buying a whole new cable.

And can I call shotgun on a ÿlength of your spare cable after it's been trimmed (I only need about 1m of it!)ÿ
