Question on Atmos Speakers and brand matching

Hi there, sorry for long post

I have Monitor Audio Si.ver 200s, the smaller silver centre and a motley collection of radius 90s and 200s to make a 7.1 setup. (REL or Velodyne sub) Also downsized my amp interms of power, from an older Yamaha to Denon 1800 as in smaller room and that AVR has all the bells and whistles for PC gaming. Going to buy a 4k player to upgrade blu ray, but I have not had an atmos setup before.

2 questions if someone can help, first is simply will I notice anything at all sound wise by not matching speakers and not buying the MA Silver Atmos? . I suspect not given what they do and they will be mounted on the floorstanders anyhow so fire at the roof, but just want to check if anyone got any strong views. MA would be neater, if they fit, but seen some Polks secondhand that are 500 quid less, could put that difference to the rear FX Silvers or some wall mounted rears. I have noted a set of KEFs on ebay for 400 as well.

Second, and more importantly should I just bite the bullet and ceiling mount? Looks like MA ceilings will cost about same all in as new dedicated Atmos ones in room.

Cheers for any reply if you have got this far !

Personally, I would try to keep all speakers to the same brand/range to ensure tonality is consistent across all speakers.

I find that the Radius are a great match with the silver range.

If I were going to go full out on Atmos I would go for speakers on the ceiling rather than upfiring ones that rely on the reflection.

Up to you really if you want to go with the full ceiling install or try some radius speakers up high and angled down - will depend on room layout, seating position etc as to what may work.

I have the same Denon 1800 and 7.1 setup.

I'm using Polk Signature Elite's below for Atmos, works well along side my MA Silver 200's (front), MA Radius 270 (back), Q Acoustics (centre) and Dali SW.

Nice little gems for £270 on Amazon, you may find cheaper else where. I do recall these were cheaper when I got them. Prices seem to be going up!
