profile 2 does matter to alot of people as that is the reason alot of people complain about when offered bare bones movies on blu ray by the studios..

joestone:Is it true that some blu-ray movies wont work on players that does not have Profile 2.0?

There have been some cases of specific movies (typically with BD Live-driven menus) having issues, but tricky discs are usually identified very quickly and firmware-updates issued to solve the problem.

So in short, if you want to spend between 400 and 600 quid the denon still offers best audio and pq for both blu ray and dvd.

im interested to see what the teams response is. i have a panasonic bd 30 and am thinking of upgrading, if i will see a significant improvement. i have a denon receiver so am leaning towards the 2500bt ive seen for £460. my other considerations are the pioneer lx-71 for £360. i purely use my players for bluray, so pq and sq are paramount. any advice would be welcome

Hi DJ Krime, as an owner of the Denon 2930 DVD player, one down from yours, hopefully not ridiculously different performance, you would suggest sticking with my PS3, after viewing the Sony S760 blu ray player yourself? I have approx 700 DVDs and only about 20 blu rays at present, so I am not in a huge hurry to upgrade. Thanks in advance.

I am very happy with it, and not worried about the loading time or the fancy stuff that goes with BD's and as said b/4 it's built like a brick Thingy
