i am thinking off changing my rotel for more upp too dates features

i know that anthem is also very good but not the easy way too configurate

and i am not so technically

I am neither Andy Clough nor Musicraft, but I must say that I find the English in your posting very hard to follow, in fact to the extent that I simply don't understand what you mean.

Could you give me more explanation on the sort of amplification I hear about:

a amplification, d amplification and A/B amplification (ie. two different types of amplifier that I can switch between), or perhaps what are the differences between the two...(oh dear starting to lose it now :doh: )

Secondly, which of the following is best for music, given that I have a 5.1 r series Kef :

- Arcam 400
- Pioneer 86 and elite 68
- sherwood
- newcastle
- yahama
- nad
- onkyo

i am thinking off changing my Rotel for something with more up-to-date features.

i know that Anthem is also very good but not that easy to set up, and I'm not very technical.

because i don't practise english whriting much i know it is not always clear

so yes what type off amplification suited best for stereo ????

i hear much good about maranz and nad but the mass brands like pioneer and onkyo are raving all the awards away

so i am a little bit scared that this is due to there anormous features ....

but for exemple the pioneer sl 86 is also known for his stereo

what do you two think about this ( dandycobalt and son_of_sj)

No problem, though I'm not best qualified for the advice part. I understand that Yamaha is great is it's the music angle that you're taking. Though you can't go wrong with a high end Pioneer a/v receiver (sclx 86 is latest I think) and i recall that folk say it pairs well with Kef..

thank you and yes i am thinking about the pioneer lx 86

but i cann't demo him .......i am a little bit worried about brighness that is something that when you mentioned

pioneer most people are saying ...it is the same thing about marantz ...

otherwise yahama is known by uss for great home theatre but not for music (stereo) ...

nad and rotel excellent with music but lacking theatre functions ...

it is a 5.1 r keff system 2 frontspeakers are kef 300 back r100 central r200 subwoofer r400

i think i can procure an anthem

but i am a little bit afraid ....it likes that anthem set upp is really difficult

i am now running an rotel rx 1056.....he lacks the new features

also very intrest in

pioneer lx 86

nad 757 and uppwards t767 t777 and t787...

because my music is very very important even consideration for seperates

i read about marantz and rotel separates

Thanks for your reply.

I used to sell Rotel's RSX-1056. Good amp.

Anyway, Anthem's MRX 700 AV reciver does an excellent job with movie and music soundtracks although i'll recommend that if possible in the first instance at least your dealer should set up the MRX 700 for you. Alternatively Yamaha's new Aventage RX-A3020 AV receiver and if budget allows Audiolab's new 8200AP AV processor/8200 x 7 multi channel power amplifier are also worth serious consideration. I think you'll find the Anthem, Yamaha and the Audiolab to offer a worthwhile upgrade over your Rotel RSX-1056. Other then the Anthem, Yamaha and the Audiolab i feel that you should also be on the right track with Arcam, NAD and Onkyo amplification.

Btw, i would avoid using bright/upfront and thin sounding amplification.

living in Belgium that is a little to far

i am surely going to audition all brands you named .....favourites are nad and anthem

not that i am a extreme audiophil i adore analogue music and having more than 500 vinyls

you don't seem to be so found of the pioneer lx 86 ??? i saw that others matched them very well wit the keff r series ??? to bright???

ore is bright music tin ????

second on a belgium site "hificorner" they revied the new yahama series as being beast but not for audiphiles

last question i read many times about speakers and amplifiers been good for the american way of listen to music

and not for the british and all the way around . Could you expain this ??,
