Question about the Sennheiser HD 660S

Hello,
As I know, Sennheiser Germany offers the HD660S at the moment for 299€ which is a price reduction of 200€. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. I was planning to get the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD58x Jubilee but now that I saw this offer I'm not so sure anymore if that would still be a good call.

Are the Sennheiser HD660S usable for the genre metal (like deathcore, metalcore, progressive) and stuff in the rock direction as well?

Depends on what you are used to. They are hifi headphones so may sound a little too polite, but they are very good headphones indeed.

I have the HD600 which I believe are very similar, almost the same sound. They are wonderful for all music genres especially classical, folk and vocal. I agree with DougK1, they might be a bit polite for metal and rock, as the bass is slightly muted. Mine are 20 years old and almost like new, albeit with a new headband foam and new ear pads. Very well made cans.
