Question about Onkyo ds-a2x and ipod classic 120

i have a onkyo 606 and brand new 120gb ipod classic.

I have also just purchased a onkyo ds-a2x ipod dock. This at present is un-opened, still in its box. Before i open this i would like to know if my ipod is going to be compatible with this dock? I have heard and read loads of conflicting information.

Basically imnot to bothered about video. What is important is audio, charging and OSD.

If not i will sell it, any help/advice would be really appreciated, am getting very confused with it all, thanks in advance

Furthermore, if the a2x is not going to be compatible, can anyone adivise me on something that is, and will do what i need it to do (advantage of onkyo one is that i can use same remote)

WHAT HIFI gave this item full stars, best buy award. Surley someone must have a little info on it in regard to the new ipods. Any help/advice would be really appreciated. even if it is just 'sell it, wait for the a3x, or buy diff model' cheers

I would like it to do bit more than just audio to be honest mate. As i said can live without the video, but it is important to me that it charges the ipod and i can achieve OSD.

Does anyone know if this is capable with new 2008/2009 ipod classic 120g and 8g nano

I'm pretty sure it will charge the players and it does have an OSD but it is pretty dire! (But functional - I know as I have this dock myself!)

Can i ask what ipod, or ipods you are using on it. I will be using the new 120 classic, andthe new 8g nano. Both the new 2008/2009 models, cheers

I use the iPod Nano - not the newest one but the model before that.

Ive got my iphone hooked up 2 mine,Charges my iphone no probs.As the Messiah says tho the video through it is well pants.

I've just posted on another thread that I cant get any video though my 1ax dock and Onkyo 606 - any ideas what's going wrong?! Can get sound fine. ipod in question is 160gb classic.

Well looking at the Onkyo site again, it looks like the A1X will display photos but not video (have you tried Photos??) and the A2X will do video too.

(Just compare the two on the site)
