Hi,
I've been a lurker for a while, but recently got a new set of headphones and I can't decide the answer to the question myself!
So, I've got a Cambridge Audio azur 340c CD player, a Sony TA FE-379 amp and some Grado SR325is. Pretty sweet setup for listening to CDs. However, I've downloaded a butt-load of music from emusic which I've burnt to CD over the last year or so and playing over my Mordaunt Short floor standing speakers I've NOT noticed a difference between a CD and a burnt CD of mp3s from emusic.
I've not listened to any of my burnt CDs with my Grados yet as I'm scared the sound will be rubbish and I'll be forced to buy all the music I already own as MP3s on CD! So, my question is, what do you think? Are emusics' fairly high bit-rate vbr mp3s enough to sound like a CD on my new headphones or will I have to bite the bullet and buy CDs of everything I've downloaded?
Many thanks in advance!
Mike
