Quality DVD Player/Bluray?

Hello

Just pulled the plug and bought a Pana PZ85!!!!

I am planning to upgrade my reciever (Pioneer AX3) at some point, is it worth it buying a Onkyo 406, Toshiba XDE500 or a

Sony BDP-S550, Pana BD55. I would be intrested in Bluray, though i have loads of SD Dvds that I'm not planning to upgrade. So SD performance is more vital, though having a Bluray player with a excellant SD performer would be wanted.

Any suggestions please?

I've seen both the panasonics and the Toshiba XDE500 though never both side by side with DVD only. The Toshiba really makes DVD's look good even on a large full hd panel and bearing in mind it can be had for less than a hundred pounds (probably even less in the new year sales) why not treat yourself to both. No guessing then.
