Just got a quad cd player..cheap! Dodgy cd platter! (I have to manually push it in a bit! However when I do this it reads disc and plays fine.) through my re amp it sound very good indeed..my question is this, it it worth going straight into power amp? Using the players own variable output? Shorter path? Better sound?

well I tried with it's variable outputs straight to power amp using the players volume control..didn't fill me with unalloyed happiness! Will stick with musical fidelity pre amp!
