Quad 66 CD player

To anyone who has listened to Quad CD players:*

How do you rate them?

Do Quad service them like there amps/speakers?

How would something like a Quad 66 CD player compare to my Cyrus CD7Q with PSX-R?

Just asking out of interest. I think to make a useful difference over my CD7Q I would have to spend over £1000.00 as has been suggested before by some on this forum and I'm not prepared to spend that while it is working nicely. Also a DAC would be pointless with my current system. The CD7Q has a good DAC and the rest of my 'sources' are a Mega Drive, Saturn via TV aux output and pre-outs from an AVR.

Wondering as I've seen a Quad 66 CD player for sale but its unknown if its working, no remote.

If its cheap enough I was thinking of buying it and getting it serviced just to try it.

That would work out about the same cost as buying a working one but knowing it has been serviced.

Anyone think its worth trying one?

CDM 4 transport and TDA 1541 Single Crown chip.... Is just a great player!
