Qobuz connect

Hi

Spoke to Primare and they won't be supporting it, neither do they support Tidal Connect.

Bluesound have said it's something they will do in future. Has caused a lot of debate on their community forums.

I just don't get it with some of these Scandinavian makes - Hegel wants you to cough up 5-6k GBP before you can get Tidal Connect, anything below their H400 and you only get Spotify Connect.

The 190v was more of an update to the existing 190 - added a phono stage. The H400 is the most recent amplifier.
Which is irrelevant really, the matter in hand was inclusion or rather not, of Qobuz connect was it ?
Even their latest doesn't include it.
However I wouldn't expect it in an amp anyway.
If you need Qobuz connect simply get a streamer that does support it. Simples!
I have no idea what the benefit is of bemoaning kit that doesn't support it, plenty to choose from out there ......

I'm not surprised, I think it's very short sighted of the companies not to ... that said Qobuz are potentially largely to blame as they'r eso late to join the party.
I may have changed to them if they'd had Connect 6 months ago but went with Tidal because their Connect worked with BluOs.

Yes but if kit your existing kit can support it why not request a feature update, bluesound for example just rolled out DIRAC room correction and its available on older generations of gear the point is the equipment has the ability.

The H400 and H600 are Qobuz Connect. I was answering a statement about why it wasn't included on the H190v.

All down to whether the hardware can support it, as well as whatever memory is needed to facilitate it.

I was sent a free two month trial or Qobuz connect to use with my Marantz 7011, these are my observations:

Sound quality is excellent as is the selection of music with lots of hires versions. If one is so inclined, it is possible to compare original recordings and remasters as they keep old and new versions.

The app is fine, but not as good as the Squeezepad app, which given how old that is, is a bit disappointing.

The biggest problem is it is a bit flakey. I have had a number of playback pauses and dropouts. It has even jumped from the middle of a track to the next one and occasionally stops altogether.
Please note I have a good internet connection and do not experience such problems with other streaming services. These maybe teething troubles, I will report back if things improve.

I've been using Qobuz Connect constantly for the last three days, and not had a single issue. If you are getting issues, I suspect it's Marantz's implementation.
