QED subwoofer cables...

Good evening everyone.

I need to buy a lead for my Quad L-ite subwoofer for connection to my Denon AVR. I am looking at the QED ones as the sites I have looked at so far make claims about their ability to offer a high level of screening compared to normal line-level interconnects, thus reducing AC mains hum. I am also considering the 'mini' version of their cables as it will be going along the skirting boards.

Would I be compromising the signals from the sub by using such a skinny cable?

Does anyone have experience of QED sub cables against other sub cables? Can I get better than the QED for not much more (or possibly less) cash?

Thanks in advance everyone.

I opted for this skinny QED so I could run it underneath the carpet. So far it has been fine, no mains hum whatsoever

Messiah and Daveee - thanks for your quick responses. I just need to decide on the length now then - 3m or 6m to give me options re: placement of the sub. Shall look at the longer one I think, can always 's' any excess I suppose.

Thanks for your replies - shall have a hunt for the best price I can - little cash after Christmas!

I bought a QED Performance Sub-Woofer cable 3m lenght and found it too short so i;ll will now have to sell and buy a 6m , so take your time and get the lenght right

Sound advice there lesmor - thanks! Better to have too much cable than too little. 6m it is - seen it for £39.00 which looks pretty good! Anyone seen it cheaper?!

If you haven't already bought the QED, I would look at the Merlin mini sub-woofer cable, its an excellent cable, probably a bit more pricey, but I think they will do a custom length

DJEPSON - Thanks for the info. Shall have a look. Is there much of a difference between subwoofer cables? Have you done any comparisons? Want a good performer, but not able to spend more than fifty. Thanks!

I havent done yet, but maybe doing soon, I have to move my sub as it is annoying my neighbour btu the Merlin cable I have isnt long enough for where I need to place it so I am going to order the cheapest cable possible to see if the new placement still annoys my neighbour, so I will get some sound comparision then

That's the one I use too. No issues at all.

Ok DJEPSON I would be interested to see if you notice much difference. Thanks for the reply Big Chris, you have a sweet setup, so if it's good enough for yours it's certainly good enough for mine!
