I'm just putting together a new system comprising Philips 42PFL9664 TV with Sony 760 Blu Ray, Denon 2310 amplifier and B&W MT-30 speaker system. It'll be used for a mixture of films and music (mainly rock/pop).

When picking up the MT-30's I was advised to wire all speakers with QED Micro speaker cable. The main thinking seemed to be the thinness of the cable and 'fiddly' wiring up of the M1 satellites.

Everything that I've subsequently read indicates that QED Micro is okay for the rear speakers, but I've not seen any mention of its use for front and centre. I obviously want to get the best sound I can from the system, so any thoughts/advice that people may have would be gratefully appreciated.

Many thanks

I had the B&W MT30 with QED silver Micro, and it was excellent. People on here have them with QED silver anniversary XT as well. There is also one in between the two you could try that one.

QED micro is usually used for rears as it is relatively cheap and decent quality. Most rooms would require pretty long lengths to link up rear speakers at the back of a room so it makes sense really to use a cable like this. Also the rears are only really used for adding surround to movies. With your front two channels you would be getting a lot more sound from movies and probably also using them for stereo (music). With this in mind it is probably advisable to get a better quality cable for the front two channels. I would consider the QED SIlver Anniversary XT or Chord Carnival Silverscreen. You have forked out on a good quality speaker package so you may as well do your main front speakers justice with decent cables.
