Hi,

I know the 1010i has the 5 star award but would a system consisting of 1050 fronts and 1020 rears be better? I really prefer floorstanders but if the performance is worse then i will stick with the 1010i package

many thanks in advance

I'm not sure how much better the "i" bookshelfs and floorstanders are than the old one but I've heard the "i" sub is the really big improvement between the ranges (unless you're just going for 5.0).

You have a few options here first get the 1010i and add some floorstanding speakers for a 7.1 . Also note you can buy 1030 and 1020 or 1020i and the same with 1050/ 1050i i stands for improved. The i being slighthly more expensive. I would add the 1030 to make a 7.1 or depending on price you could mix and match. say 1050i with centre 1010i and 1020i and get a decent sub . The Sub could be a bit better in the 1010i package not the punchiest around. The floorstanders are quite good for music as well.1050 about £200 1050i £300, 1020 £80 1020i £130 and 1030 is £130.
