Pseudo atmos on non atmos discs

Considering that not much atmos material is available right now to justify the extra layup for a atmos setup.

Do any of the present atmos av Amps come with DSP programs to extend non atmos tracks into pseudo atmos and put the ceiling speakers into use.

If yes, how effective does this sound. Thanks...

Some people liked it, I didn't, so switched pseudo Atmos off in my system. I found it distracting. Atmos discs are ever increasing.

Marantz 7010 in a 7.2.4 setup.
Works superbly with the helicopter-ey bits of Apocalypse Now and the blastoff scenes in The Martian.
Don't usually watch Batman vs Traffic Wardens type movies so can't comment on those, but on movies where there no real overhead sound needed, I could see it being annoying.

Well noted. Do the Yamaha aventage line up from A1060 also have this feature. In of my previous posts I had mentioned that I was considering the sc lx 59 , but have ever since shifted preference to the A1060. As I can't audition before I buy. Iam going more by reviews.

I find this a big improvement on Pro logic 11z and it does give a better sense of height and scale I find on non-atmos discs. There is a DTS version as well have listened to both but not enough yet to decide which I like best

Iam again swaying between the Yamaha and marantz sr7010. Getting good deal on the sr7010 in Singapore for 1080 pounds , as compared to the 2300 pounds price in India. Will go with the marantz more probably. I thank you all for your time and advise.
