Would appreciate if someone could help...

I have just bought a PS3 to go with a 1080P tv and wondered which of the 'upscale' settings I should select for DVD playback. There are 4 options: Off / Double scale / Normal / Full screen.

Also, anything else i need to tweak from the auto set up which was quite impressive!?

Cheers

Hey cb75,

I haven't really tried Off or Double Scale, but I have noticed that the picture looks the same with both Normal and Full Screen when watching a 16:9 aspect ratio DVD (i.e. the vast majority of film DVDs).

The difference between N and FS becomes obvious when watching a DVD with non-widescreen content (e.g. various TV shows, like my Friends and Family Guy DVDs, for instance). Set to Normal, these DVDs will appear in their native 4:3 aspect ratio (with big black bars left and right) whereas with Full Screen they are stretched horizontally to fill the screen. But in terms of picture quality, both settings are the same are far as I can see.

As for the other settings, it'll be best if you just test them individually and see what you like best.
