ps3 and dac

hi all,

been trying to work out how to get the best sound from what i already have equipment wise at the moment and my next question is this, if anyone can advise or help...

would playing cd's through a ps3 but connected to an external dac sound as good as a dedicated cd player? this would probably be a dacmagic, just thinking if i need the extra cd player or whether i could save space by using the ps3 as transport?

In my experience, no. In fact, I went back to my CD player.
