Projector for small games room

Just wondering if it would be possible to set up a screen and projector in spare bedroom for movies and gaming. The room is about 14ft long and 12ft wide, viewing distance 10-11ft and budget £1500. If this is possible a pull down screen 5ft wide, due to room design and ceiling mounted projector. What kind of projector and screen can i get for this money, hopefully full hd. Any help would be welcomed.

If your budget is £1500 for everything, I think full HD could be out of reach for you.

I'm looking at getting my first projector and I've been looking at the various panasonic models, like the PT-AX200E for example, as they have great performance and a very short throw ratio, which means they'd work perfectly in a smallish room such as yours.

You should be able to get a Sanyo PLV-Z700, bracket, cable and manual screen for your budget with a bit left over. Do you have a sound system and HD source as it is a bit tight to get sound and full HD for your budget.

Thanks for your reply Nick this would be my first Projector, and your suggestion was excatly what i looked at. My only concern was is the Distance of 10ft away ok for the projector or would i have to place it further away. At present im using my Ps3 for blu-rays and i also have the Toshiba XDE-500 all connected to the Onkyo 606 and Quad-lite speaker package. Will upgrade blu-ray player when i feel it catches up with Dvd sales and prices of discs drop. cheers
