Purchased On what hifi’srecommendation I am now on my 3rd drive belt on my project e turntable in 6 months. does anyone have any idea why they should fail so often?

That’s strange, they should last years. What does ‘failure’ actually mean here? Breakage or something else?

Very strange.
At that rate my Thorens would have had 190+ belts by now (it's on its 2nd, changed only because I thought I should, not because the 1st had failed).

To say that something is not right there Johnty would be an understatement.

I would be returning that deck as unfit for purpose if those belts have parted and assuming they were genuine Pro-ject parts
