Hi All,

I recently bought the Sony-DG820; its a great piece of kit. I am however expericing one niggling issue; I decided to hook up my nintendo Wii to the component in and audio connections on the unit. However I simply cannot get the picture from the Wii to display on my TV unit (which is connected to the receiver via the HDMI out). The audio is fine, its just the picture. I've tried moving the component leads across several connections (Video 1, DVD etc) but it's makes no difference.

Have I done something fundamentally wrong here (e.g. Can't component inputs be outputted via HDMI)? - Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Tighey.

No the DG820 does not perform any "video processing" it is not capable of taking the input from one source type e.g. component and outputting via another e.g. HDMI. Your display needs to connected to the amp by all the methods your various sources connect to the amp. So if you are only using one video input for a particular source type you may as well connect it direct to your TV.

Hi,

You could plug the video cables into the tv and the audio cables into the Sony of the component cable you already have.

Then select the correct source on the tv and amp independantly.
