Had my pro ject debut 111 esprit just over a year now and think its time for an cart., upgrade. Is it wise to throw vast amount of cash on a new one when i only have an entry level TT. I have thought about the Ortofon 2m red as it gets good reviews also the Goldring 2100 as it might be a bit warmer than the Red. I find that after a couple of albums my ears start to hurt with the pre fitted Orofon. Dont know if its down to my old worn vinyl or not asmy new albumsare not so trying. Ilisten to Jazz vocals M/F, Chet Baker Sinatra Streisand etc., Hope this post makes it to the forum as i am tired of failed attempts.

Kind regards

Goldring 2100 may be too heavy for the Debut III's standard counterweight, unless you're happy to use the TT without a lid. The Goldring 1006 I fitted to my dad's Debut III was. So if you do go for the Goldring, make sure you buy it from somewhere which will let you return it if it's not suitable.
