i am looking for a good pre amp for £500 max to see me over till i can find a matching krell pre amp

i was looking at

audiolab 8000q

does any body have any thing they can tell me on these 2 pre amps or any other pre amps

i listen to dance music and anything with a good beat

Hi Stuart

The pre amp which i feel you need to consider is the excellent NAD C160. The C160's input stage will present a nice and easy load for the CD63 KI and the C160's robust output stage will help it to drive the interconnects and KAV-250a.

The C160's tonal balance will also help it to nicely sit in between the CD63 KI and the KAV-250a and its presentation will also suit the types of music you listen to

I'm confused. Are there any preamps on the market today that do not provide a "nice and easy" load for a source component? Are you perhaps thinking of passive preamps here?
