PP what was the operation like on the Pioneer 450?

Hi PP

I am considering this player but just want to know what the operation was like on it? Did it freeze or do anything strange? Cheers.

I don't think he had the player for very long. He now owns Panasonic BDT500.

No, absolutely no issues at all, but as BB alluded to I returned it the next day as it didn't have any analogue 'outs'.

I'll wait till after the festive period (money permitting) and run a feasibility check on a Dac and the Pioneer 450.

Had mine for quite a few months and nothing untoward apart from the first update, where I had to disconnect it from the mains and reconnect it again to get it back to normal.

Points to note: There are no analogue outputs, so all sound will be processed by the device it is connected too, and thus this will determine the quality of the sound.

Being an older player it has limited smart features and file support, but covers all the most common file formats.

gel ive been running the 450 for almost a year,it froze a couple of times at the start with hugo3d,but swithing off power saving mode fixed that and its been perfect ever since,stunning picture and sound through sclx56 and gt50.

Not really, analogue outs would mean the unit was doing the processing whereas you can of course bitstream audio and let your AVR do the processing.
