I`m currently looking to integrate my hifi & home cinema system so that i can use my main speakers as fronts without compromising sound quality for music playback. Home cinema is of secondary consideration in terms of outright sound quality. The hifi currently is a cairn fog 3, cairn nitro pre, cairn ko2 power amp & art emotion speakers. What i want is ideally a pair of monoblocks with xlr`s for hifi use & rca`s to connect to the preouts on my av amp. The only ones i can find that allow both to be connected at the same time & can be selected independently via remote or fascia buttons are cairn mea 500`s. I`ve never seen any reviews but like the cairn sound but i would like to try something different, maybe valves.I`m pretty much stumped. Any ideas?

Have you thought of connecting your av pre-out to the pre-amp, e.g., aux. You could then set the volume to 12 o'clock and calibrate your surround sound. You'll have it all set up as long as you set this volume to 12 o'clock whenever you need the av receiver.

Thanks to all for the replies. Thanks also for that Thaiman, i have to say i`ve tried a few speakers with this system ,proac tablette ref 8 signatures, usher cp6371`s & monitor audio pl100`s but when i changed to the emotions they just blew me away. Best upgrade i ever made. So impressed i`m saving like a dog for the signature upgrade.
