Personally, it sounds like your room needs some serious acoustic treatment. Too much echo, it sounds like it was recorded in the bathroom.

When you listen to your favorite artist, are you hearing what they sounded like or are you just hearing what your speakers sound like? Actually, in theory, the more accurate your system the more you can hear my system.

Totally agree, you'll never get the feel or a true representation but it's good to see them in action. Mine are fabulous, and like most PMCs they work well with most systems.

Yeah, the IB2s are amazing speakers, but they are HUGE. Had them for over a year and just wanted to switch things up. Not sure where I'll end up at this point. The IB2s have been sold to a happy new owner. Picked up the TB2is as a stop gap because they were deeply discounted by a dealer. Man the finish on these things is gorgeous! Sound superb as well.
As for the videos, well I'll keep making them because I've heard from many people who enjoy them. And I know I really enjoy it when I watch videos that other people have posted of their systems.

KEF I put in a different camp than those other 3 manufacturers. KEF speakes are more technical and more modern typically. I put KEF and B&W in the same group. The LS50s do not sound like Harbeth, Spendors, or PMCs. They are smoother and I suspect more accurate. But accurate doesn't always translate into listening enjoyment. But in this case it does becaues the LS50 is probably the best speaker anywhere near it's price. But it's better for smaller rooms and needs wall reinforcement to help with the bass. The LS50s are a technical masterpiece IMO. The PMCs are for music lovers.
How are we supposed to get an idea what an expensive pair of speakers sound like through a rubbish set of PC monitor speakers, for example?
Seriously, if we could get a very good idea via rubbish PC speakers why would we need to buy expensive ones?
It's like someone trying to show you their 4k OLED TV's amazing picture through your old 70 quid TN monitor with it's washed out colours, light bleed and banded gradients!

As with the TB2is, the cream really does float to the top.

If you listen to a live recording of your favorite artist, do you get a sense of what the concert sounded like? Of course you do.
If I post a you tube video of 3 different speakers playing the same song will they sound distinctly different? Yep.
Not saying its a replacement for listening to a system in person. Just saying its not worthless as you are implying.

I'm delighted you are enjoying your new purchase. But I have to agree with OD and others who have said that listening to a recording of speakers in a room does not really make a lot of sense - sorry.jaxwired said:

that track that your playing is great sounding so i thought i would listen to it via spotify on my system and it just sounds fab such depth i only listened to it at a lowish level, i can't wait to wack it up a bit i do hope the whole album is just as impressive as that track.
im not sure how close your speakers are to mine but there was plenty of good quaility bass.
i know you liked the .21s but thought they were a little thin sounding thats why i chose the .22 for me i think these are the best speakers from the twenty series.at least for my size room.

If it wasn't for me stumbling accross your LS50 YT vids last year, then I wouldnt be enjoying HiFi quite as much as I am. I was in the market for some new speakers and after watching your videos a number of times, I knew I was on the right track. So many YT HiFi video's are substandard compared to yours. Yes, I know how a video doesn't give an exact representation of the sound produced, but as you say, use some headphones and you get a good idea of how kit sounds. At the time I was interested in the Nad M2, which led me straight to you. And for that I'm very grateful. Never got to hear the M2, but I did hear the LS50's. Opted for the PMC 22's instead. Then after a short spell owning Fact 8's on the end of a pair of Leema Hydra 2's, I think I've come to end of my journey with a pair of Fact 12's that sing on a pair of Leema Altair's, Pyxis Pre, Antila, and Elements Dac. All thanks to you. So keep posting your videos on YT and ignore the critics. Forums, whether they be Gardening, Forestry, Cars, etc are full of nitpickers. Thats just forums and people for you.
ps. you must be missing the oomph of those IB2's though!

Playback quality is easily solved by using a pair of headphones or earphones, but most of the youtube recordings are made using the internal microphone on an iPad or smartphone and they produce a hollow and echoey sound (Jaxwired's being no exception) that is not a reflection of the actual sound.
If you plan to continue producing this videos, I would recommend using an external microphone with your iPad or smartphone which will deliver a huge leap in recorded sound quality.
