Anyone interested in seeing my setup (and hearing it) search for my jaxwired on you tube. I've posed a couple vids of the sigs in action.

Sorry, I'm not getting it. If I said it sounded great, does that mean my Mac speakers are great too?
Personally, it sounds like your room needs some serious acoustic treatment. Too much echo, it sounds like it was recorded in the bathroom.

See them in action?

You must have owned more different types of top class kit in the last five years than most people do in a lifetime !
Your video's are fantastic , ignore the curmudgeon's *smile*

I've never heard the regulard TB2is, so I don't know if the signature version sounds noticably different, but these are very transparent with excellent bass for their size. For whatever reason, I group in my mind Harbeth, Spendor, and PMC. They are similar companies and they make similar sounding speakers for the most part, but of the 3 I find PMC hits the sweetspot best.
The LS50s are a technical masterpiece IMO. The PMCs are for music lovers.

Seriously, if we could get a very good idea via rubbish PC speakers why would we need to buy expensive ones?
It's like someone trying to show you their 4k OLED TV's amazing picture through your old 70 quid TN monitor with it's washed out colours, light bleed and banded gradients!

Try listening to the video with a good pair of headphones instead. Then tell me that it doesn't provide any insight into how the system sounds.
If you listen to a live recording of your favorite artist, do you get a sense of what the concert sounded like? Of course you do.
If I post a you tube video of 3 different speakers playing the same song will they sound distinctly different? Yep.
Not saying its a replacement for listening to a system in person. Just saying its not worthless as you are implying.

I'm delighted you are enjoying your new purchase. But I have to agree with OD and others who have said that listening to a recording of speakers in a room does not really make a lot of sense - sorry.jaxwired said:Overdose said:When you factor in all the variables, such as recording equipment used and room acoustics, not to mention the vagaries of Pc/laptop speakers, then yes, it pretty much is a waste of time
This is a classic case of you being wrong.
jaxwired said:Understood. But apparently a lot of people do enjoy them. The video I posted of KEF LS50s has 87,000 views and hundreds of "likes". That's a lot of traffic for a completely worthless endeavor.
