Plasma Wall Bracket with shelves - Advice Needed.

Having just bought a Panasonic 58V10 that is currently on an Alphason 105 stand in the corner, I am trying to find a wall bracket that also incorporates two shelves underneath - one for Sky HD Box and Sony BDP550 Blu Ray player and the other for Yamaha YSP 1000 Sound Bar. I saw a corner unit in Comet where the braket attached to the walls and the shelves hung suspended underneath - the AVF Corner Unit. Unfortunately the corners I have will not take size wise a big Plasma so I am looking for a wall bracket with shelves underneath the lower shelf being able to taker the sound bar at 1.050m length. I have no objection to the unit going down to the floor with a stand provided the Plasma is right against the wall. The only one to the floor I have found which will fit a sound bar - but not big enough for a 58V10 - is the Alphason ARB 1100/2. I see from the AVF site thay do do shelves with cable hide runs but the shelves are not long enough for the sound bar

I have looked at most net suppliers but can find very little like the Comet corner unit suitable for a flat wall with reasonable sized shelves. Any advice or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

You could try optimum stands, I had to sell me alphason stand because it would not take my centre speaker.

Optimum you can customise the stands to fit your needs.

You could always use a conventional TV wall bracket, and mount below the TV some shelves using invisible brackets such as these

I also wanted a similar set up with 4 shleves, but TBH afer searching the web all I found were stands which had large bases to support the weight.

I actually think that the invisible shelf idea from Andrew is very good, I wish I'd thought of it! and may do it myself.

Try using a conventional wall mount and placing something like this underneath. From your original post I think this is exactly what you're looking for.

The best solution would be a bracket for plasma and buy separate shelves underneath with a cable box - not keen on running cables in wall as timberframe supporting wall and would have to drill through supports (will have to consult carpenter!)! However, plaster board is German Fermacell which can take 25kg on a single support screw so will take plasma.

Thans again - still amazed by picture quality of 58V10 on Sky HD.

If your wall is UK timber frame, the strength is only from the frame and the wall will be formed from uprights only ( well mine was, you can check with a stud detecor) if you can drill a hole large enough you can feed up through the cavity as long as you use a suitable feeder to punchure the honey comb structure of the cavity. This will not reduce the structural integrety of the wall, I used a similar technique to route mains wiring to a new freezer.

Thanks Matt - will look at this - most probably will have to ditch long soundbar and go for two shelves only with Blu Ray and SkyHD. The internal wall is loadbearing timber frame but of Swedish design filled with 4 inches of insulation so pushing down wires might be difficult and it might have cross beams for strength. Will get a stud detector and see what is there. Presume one should try to get plasma mount screwed into wood section of frame but as plasterboard is German Fermacell capable of 25kg on a screw if the mount has a number of screws this will be OK.
