You'll get all the FTA(free to air) channels available on Sky/Freesat. Sky's FTA channels listed Here,

One thing to be aware of is that you will probably only get now/next channel data and not a full 8 day epg like you do with Sky and Freesat.

I never bothered with the digital tuner in the media box. I just use sky. I recently had my TV calibrated and the guy who did it said everyone he had visited who had a pioneer did the same.

Before I had my TV calibrated I used these settings

AV Selection: USER

Contrast: 32

Brightness: 0

Color: +1

Tint: -1

Sharpness: -9

Pure Cinema: Off

Text Optimization: Off

Intelligence: Off

DRE Picture: Off

Black Level: Off

ACL: Off

Enhancer Mode: 1

Color Space: 2 (made a good difference (for me))

CTI: Off

3DNR: Off

Field NR: Off

Block NR: Off

Mosquito NR: Off

Power Save Mode: Off

Orbiter: Mode 2

RGB Controls

R High -1

G High 1

B High 0

R Low -1

G Low 0

B Low 0

Color Management

R 0

Y +1

G -1

C 0

B 0

M 0

However what works for me in my environment may not be perfect for you. However the above settings should get you a decent picture. Everyone raved about how brilliant pure mode was. But I just found it pale and washed out.
I even preferred Optimum which is supposed to be just a gimmick.

Although the best of all was the professional calibration. I don't know what those settings are as they are locked down.

Enjoy.

I keep meaning to get another feed run from my dish to the 500a, we have had situations where we've been recording two different programs on Sky+ and wanted to watch a third, we do get Freeview now, finally, but the choice of stations in our area is limited.

Might as well, I don't think it'll cost that much.
